National Treasury's amended Regulation 16 unlocks the R2bn PPP threshold and formal Unsolicited Bid Proposals — walked through directly with the PPP Advisory Unit.

€8.7bn of JET capital already committed
Team Europe's Global Gateway package, launched October 2025, is earmarked for green hydrogen, critical raw materials and renewables — the Lekgotla puts the EU Delegation on that panel.

The North West Energy Lekgotla 2027 is the first dedicated energy platform for the province, organised by North West Business Expo (Pty) Ltd (NWBE), co-convened with the North West Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NWCOCI) and endorsed by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA).
It is designed to accelerate energy access, attract investment into renewable and alternative energy, and drive an inclusive energy transition that benefits communities, municipalities, mining houses and businesses across the North West.
Co-convened by the North West Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Lekgotla positions the province as an active implementation site for the Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), the JET-IP, and the Electricity Regulation Amendment Act (2024) — translating national energy policy into on-the-ground delivery.

The 2027 programme is organised around six pillars covering the full energy value chain — from grid infrastructure and IPPs through to community energy access, just transition finance and the new Treasury PPP framework.
